A few weeks ago I introduced you to Geoff Sakala, Local Advertiser Solutions for Locable, and many of our Affiliates are already speeding forward with new advertising campaigns. Now I’d like to introduce you to Kate McKenna, Kate joins us with a background in editing and curation for web-based communities.
Kate is stepping in as our Content Coordinator to ensure every issue produced by each affiliate is fully promoting their website, that the website is fully supporting your magazine and that the two work effectively together to drive more traffic and engagement with your brand… which just so happens to lead back into Geoff’s court.
Why is this so important? Because after looking at over 2000 magazines and their websites we’ve determined that no magazines do an effective job of driving people from print to the web and back again. Some do things that are smart but none do it consistently well and that is just not right.
It’s important to note, content coordination is not a lot of work and it’s not hard but it does require some clever thinking and action on your part. Kate will work with our Affiliates on an issue-by-issue basis to ensure the content they’re already planning to run contextually drives readers online and that the website is setup to receive them with compelling and share-worthy content and experiences. Beyond the coordination, Kate will be writing content that can be localized and dropped in to publications with minimal work and will serve to highlight some of the great things available in your community and online.
