Brian started Locable to equip local businesses, nonprofits and civic organizations to effectively share their story aka improve their marketing.
Having grown up in the small gold rush town of Placerville, CA, which has a quintessential Main Street, he saw how the community could come together and that left an indelible impression.
Meanwhile, he saw how friends and family who owned local businesses struggled with marketing... and that was before the Internet.
Starting as an MBA research project at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business, Brian sought to identify and solve "the local marketing problem."
He's always believed that community and fellowship is one of the greatest gifts and challenges God has given us so when he saw alignment between purpose and opportunity he knew he had to do something about it.
As smartphones and social media were just starting to reach mass adoption, Brian worked to create a publisher network to bolster local publications and learn from the countless interactions with small businesses and nonprofits.
Brian is now working to bring Locable's easy-to-use marketing technology to every community and equip all local businesses with free and low-cost solutions.
He created Marketing 3-4-5™ to simplify local marketing and equip every local business owner to become more effective without becoming an expert and, more recently, published Marketing 3-4-5™: The Business Owner's Guide to Effective Local Marketing in 15-Minutes or Less.
Brian holds an MBA from the University of Washington, an MS in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota and BA from Azusa Pacific University. He's served as Entrepreneur in Residence at Sonoma State University and taught entrepreneurship at the undergraduate and graduate level.
More recently, Brian and his family have been visiting Main Streets and communities across the US as part of the Marketing 3-4-5™ Tour.
