Iredell Health System Welcomes Family Nurse Practitioner to Iredell Occupational Medicine
Iredell Health System, in partnership with the Iredell Physician Network, is pleased to welcome Ashi Chabeda, FNP-C, to Iredell Occupational Medicine.
Chabeda is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with 26 years of nursing experience. During the first 20 years of her career, Chabeda worked in various medical settings, including pediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health, medical-surgical units, and telemetry. For the past six years, Chabeda has practiced as a family nurse practitioner with a focus in industrial and occupational medicine.
Before receiving her master’s degree, Chabeda had previously worked for Iredell Health System. She loved the vision and community-centered mission of the organization and is excited to return to Iredell in furtherance of that mission.
She believes in a preventive approach to medical care, educating her patients and placing great importance on preventive measures. Chabeda hopes that through holistic care with an emphasis on education, she can empower her patients to take action in managing their wellbeing.
“My goal for my patients is to encourage them to practice simple daily habits that will prevent disease and provide them with optimal health, wherever in the wellness continuum they are,” said Chabeda.
“I get satisfaction when my patients understand how simple lifestyle modifications can produce great outcomes and can provide a measure of insurance for their most valuable asset, their health,” she added.
Upon first meeting Chabeda, patients can expect to be greeted with warmth and respect. Chabeda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the City University of New York. She received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
She is American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certified and has certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Chabeda believes in continual growth and likes to read and listen to podcasts. As a proud mother of three boys and one daughter, Chabeda enjoys discussing all things parenting. Her oldest son has graduated from college. Two other sons will graduate from college in 2022 and 2024, and her daughter is a sophomore in high school.
When not treating her patients, Chabeda runs her own entrepreneurial business, providing financial education and literacy to others.
She also enjoys walking, participating in church activities, and loves freestyle dancing.
Chabeda’s favorite health tip is to stay hydrated with water.
“It is simple and cheap, but I find that many of my patients do not hydrate enough. Hydration flushes out waste, supports cell function and circulation, aids in kidney health, and provides equilibrium by managing blood pressure,” she said.
