We're spotlighting long-time favorites, new arrivals, and hidden gems alike. We encourage you to share these local stories and visit with merchants to get to know them firsthand.

We connected with the CVCB Marketing Department to learn more about Central Valley Community Bank at 905 Sutter Street, Suite 100.

What is Central Valley Community Bank, how would you describe it to a friend?

We are a California State chartered community bank that is distinguished from other financial institutions through our nearly four-decade track record of strength, security, client advocacy, and the values that have steered us since our opening.

Our bank is a unique brand of personalized service and has strategically grown, guided by a hands-on Board of Directors, and a seasoned Executive Management Team who continue to be focused on investing in customer relationships, personalized service, customer referrals, and employee satisfaction.

Why did you start the business? What do you hope to accomplish?

Central Valley Community Bank (CVCB) was founded in 1979 by an esteemed group of Central California business owners whose desire was to help small businesses with their financial needs and to support the communities where the Bank operated.

CVCB opened for business on January 10, 1980 in Clovis, California with 12 professional bankers and beginning assets of $2,000,000.

Today, CVCB operates full-service offices in 18 communities within California’s Greater Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley regions, and serves the next generation of business customers, along with emerging businesses in every category.

Serving both business and individual alike, CVCB has remained true to our “roots” – a commitment to our core values of integrity, trustworthiness, caring, loyalty, leadership and teamwork.

What's something you wish people knew about your business?

Touting personalized customer service is far more than just a catchphrase for CVCB.

For nearly forty years, our financial advocacy and personalized service is what has truly differentiated our bank from other financial institutions.

Our team goes the extra mile to help business and personal customers manage their banking needs, which is our promise today, tomorrow and into the future.

What is a common question you get or what is your most popular product or service?

New businesses that we meet many times do not realize the range of personal and business lending products that we offer. We offer home loans, home equity lines of credit, and other personal loans for whatever you and your family may need.

Our business lending solutions include customized lending products for small, medium, and large sized businesses for anything from commercial real estate, to new product lines, equipment needs, agribusiness, SBA lending solutions and more.

What's the biggest compliment you've received?

Referrals!

We are honored to work with a wide range of business and personal banking customers who openly share our bank with their friends, family, and business associates.

Our customers also share their positive satisfaction directly with our team and through our customer satisfaction surveys.

Additionally, we have consistently received the designation of Best Business Bank and Best Company to Work For in Central California through The Business Journal – a proud title considering the voting represents the sentiments of the business community.

Are you involved with or do you support any local nonprofits, community organizations or causes?

We are focused on investing in the communities we serve through a wide variety of organizations with financial donations and through the talents and energy of our team.

Our management team serves in leadership positions for civic and philanthropic organizations, as well as industry groups at the state and national levels.

Providing leadership-by-example sets the pace for our entire team who is committed to improving and strengthening the quality of life in the communities where they live, work and raise their families.

Why did you choose to be in the Historic District?

We merged with Folsom Lake Bank in the fall of 2017 – thus acquiring our wonderful office in Folsom’s Historic District. Bob Flautt, the former CEO of Folsom Lake Bank, now actively serves on our Board of Directors.

The Folsom Historic District is reminiscent of CVCB’s first office, which opened in Old Town Clovis in 1980 - a western influenced community nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills where California’s logging industry and agricultural roots thrived.

We are proud of our roots and equally proud to call the Folsom Historic District our home.

Are you a member of the chamber or any other networking organizations?

We are a proud member of the Greater Folsom Partnership and Folsom Chamber of Commerce; the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership; and the Roseville, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park, and Sacramento Metro Chambers of Commerce. Additionally, we support the Association of Commercial Real Estate; Commercial Real Estate Women Sacramento; Sacramento Professional Advisors Network; and the Sacramento Medical Group Management Association and a long list of philanthropic organizations from education to health the arts and more.

Do you have any upcoming events, specials or new products/services that people should know about?

For the past 12 years during April and May we hold our annual Shred Events at our branches and neighboring locations, where the community is invited to bring up to four banker boxes of sensitive documents to be shred for free.

Our goal is to help educate the community about the perils of identity theft and how they can help protect their identity by safely shredding documents and following recommended cyber protection best practices.

We additionally hold seminars on the same subject, in addition to small business subjects from family-owned business succession planning to SBA and SCORE workshops for small businesses covering a range of topics to help keep both new and longtime businesses financially healthy.
