Host a Downtown "Watch Party"

The Center Congregational Church will be welcoming a new tree to town on November 4th! This 15-foot, Kosteri Colorado Blue Spruce will be planted on the lawn of the church which is located at the top of Main Street, next to Town Hall.  Each December this tree will be decorated with Christmas lights as another great holiday decoration welcoming folks to the downtown area.  The church has planned its first, hopefully annual, Tree Lighting Ceremony for December 9th.

The tree will arrive in Downtown Manchester on Saturday, November 4th, between 10:30am and 11:00am.  The tree, coming all the way from Rhode Island, weighs over 5,000 pounds and will arrive on a large truck!  In fact, Santa and Chuckles (of Lutz Children's Museum) will join the tree for its final mile up Main Street!

This is a great opportunity for downtown businesses and restaurants to host an activity or "watch party!"  Perhaps you host a special brunch, serve special hot chocolate, host some carolers, or....insert your idea here!  We would love to have folks join us on Main Street to watch the tree arrive. (There will NOT be any sort of ceremony at the church on this date.)

If you will be hosting anything in anticipation of the tree's arrival, let us know! We would love to fill downtown Manchester with guests to welcome the tree - and to shop and dine downtown!
