This recipe for Hot Spiced Fruit is an excellent way to feature Fuhrmann apples on your Christmas breakfast or morning brunch buffet.

Hot Spiced Fruit

Ingredients:

• 4 cups sliced apples
• 1 cup fresh cranberries
• 1 cup pineapple tidbits (save the juice)
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1/3 cup brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
• 4 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

In a large bowl, toss fruit with 1 to 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Set aside.

In a small bowl, combine honey, spices, and butter.

Mix in a few tablespoons of leftover pineapple juice. Add this mixture to the fruit and coat evenly.

Pour fruit into a 9 x 12-inch baking pan.Bake for 1 hour.

(This dish can be prepared a day ahead of time. Bake. Cool and refrigerate overnight. Reheat at 300 degrees for 20 minutes.)
