HAWC Volunteers help Remove Graffiti From Local Buildings near 14STW in Huntington, W.Va.!

West End Graffiti Task Force Begins Removing Graffiti From Local Buildings

The West End Graffiti Task Force began removing graffiti from local buildings this week as a way to help clean-up the community and help local property and business owners.

"I do not, mind coming and helping remove graffiti," one volunteer from HAWC said. "It sucks that people do this to people's stuff, but I am glad we have the supplies to help the community."

About the West End Graffiti Task Force

Funded by the City Council Representative Todd Sweeney and RenewAll Inc., this project looks to help remove graffiti and, if needed, implement preventions to help keep the crime from reoccurrence. The West End Graffiti Task Force uses a power washer and graffiti chemical remover, if necessary, to remove the painted vandalism. The task force will only remove graffiti per the property owner's request. More information, volunteer sign-ups, and the Request for Removal form can be found here

The task force hit the street for the first time this week, removing graffiti near Bimbo Bakeries. A special thank you goes out to HAWC for their continuous support on our 14STW projects such as this. Check out the before and after in the gallery below! The task force is looking for more community volunteers- if you would be interested, fill out the volunteer form below!
