Rong Wang, International Artist from China, hosted a Public Art Silent Auction at RenewAll Inc. here in Central City on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. Funds raised during the event will benefit the West Huntington Community Fund at the Foundation for the Tri-State Community.

Rong Wang's Inspiration for "The Watchman" Silent Auction

Since moving to from China, to California, and then to West Virginia, Wang said she has been fascinated by our Appalachian scenery, specifically nature and animals.

"I moved from Los Angeles, CA, to pursue a wonderful dream," Wang said. "The yard of the new house is beautiful, with bright sun and moonlight, and I have become enchanted by the visiting deer. The deer is a guardian, strong, alert, and agile by nature, making us feel safe and calm. The Watchman series honors the symbolism of this animal protector with gratitude for bringing us a wonderful day with family."
