Michelle's Geekery @ West Arts Fest

Michelle Alford of Michelle's Geekery is a native of WV having grown up in rural Mason county and a resident of Huntington WV for most of the past 20+ years.  Her artwork is eclectic in nature with her more recent work including wood burning, acrylic painting, and mixed media elements.  Her family and their love for pop culture has been a major inspiration for many of her pieces, such as her LOVE collection which includes a wide range of wood burned and acrylic pieces using the LOVE text as a base with details geared towards pop culture icons as Minecraft, Stranger Things, Cthulhu and more.  Her more recent collections have focused on WV cryptids and mandalas.  She considers herself a lifelong student, striving to learn more in all aspects of her life, and especially her art.

Outside of her art, Michelle spends her days working at the Marshall University Libraries and helping organize the HerdCon pop culture convention, while homeschooling her daughter, creating cosplay costumes with her daughter and mother, enjoying as much family time as she can squeeze in, and cuddling with their many fur babies.
