Jae Lee @ Gallery 610
Brief Bio
Jae Lee is a local Artist who now lives in Huntington, WV. She specializes in mixed-media portraits and acrylic landscapes. She has performed in and had gallery works in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and currently in West Virginia. Lee says she has been painting for as long as she remembers and has always dabbled in some sort of art whether it was music, painting, or sculpting. She said Ansel Adams’ black and white landscape photography and Andy Warhol’s pop art heavily inspired her style and personal flair. Lee added she is open to art collections of all kinds and will gladly join you in the pursuit of projects and adventures.
She also expressed the importance of public art exhibitions. She said, “Public art exhibitions are one of, if not the oldest forms of art appreciation.” Lee also said, “Culture as we know it simply wouldn’t exist without the ability for us to see and feel art in person.”
Work on Display
Lee submitted two pieces to the “My Heart’s Desire,” Public Exhibition. One titled, “Barren Words,” is an acrylic on canvas and she said that it represents her heart's desire to “drown out the false words of complicity and platitudes with strong will and promise for authenticity.” Her second piece on display is titled, “Spawn,” and is mixed media on canvas. She said “Spawn” represents the Heart’s desire to break the chains of humanity. Lee said, “The creature throws rules and regulations to the wayside, in order to set an animalistic soul free. This comes with destruction and chaos as with any revolt.”
