Meet Kim Boley @ Winter Arts Fest

Kimberly Boley was born and raised in Huntington, WV and is a third-generation weaver. She specializes in mixed media art and weaving. She said her grandmother taught her to weave when she was about eight years old and feels it’s her duty to carry the tradition. In high school, Boley said she took photography and was fascinated by capturing images of various places and things, and she turned it into a lifelong hobby. Boley has many talents and tricks. She learned to cut metal with plasma and created metal art to display at a few shows in WV and KY. The pandemic didn’t stop Boley from wanting to learn more. During the pandemic, she began making light catchers from glass beads that throw orbs of light when hung in a sunny window. “I like to brighten everyone’s day and this was a way to create it in the physical sense.”

Boley also received her Reiki certification in 2020 after studying the healing properties of crystals at Light Touch Healing Arts. She used this knowledge to create crystal jewelry to help people feel better in their daily life. “My goal is to add more time to create art each and every day and spread love and good energy to as many people as I can,” she said.

Meet this multi-faceted artist during Winter Arts Fest at Village Antiques and see her weaving in action! Learn about how weaving is beneficial to the environment as she focuses on using reused materials.
