BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: O’CONNORS BBQ AND GRILL

Looking for a good place to eat in Orangevale? You don’t have to go far — put your taste buds on auto pilot and head on over to O’Connor’s BBQ and Grill located at 9267 Greenback Lane. Once you pull into the parking lot, the mouth-watering smells of wood fire barbeque will overwhelm your senses and make your appetite jump for joy!

The family run business is owned and operated by Steve and Debbie Dougherty who moved to the area in 2006. Together they have over 20 years of experience in the food service industry. Steve started out in the “food chain” of jobs at 15 as a dishwasher in the Bay area and worked his way up to bartender, general manager and eventually owning his own place here in Orangevale in 2008.

O’Connor’s BBQ was originally launched as a fast, casual eatery until the Orangevale business closed its doors for a major remodel in 2015. “At that point, we expanded the restaurant to include a full bar making us the only full service grill and bar in Orangevale,” Steve noted.

Their mouth-watering menu includes wood fire pizzas, delicious salads, pastas and tantalizing barbequed meats like tri-tip, brisket and chicken to name a few. Besides dining in, you can order out making the task of hosting parties and other gatherings a breeze. They also cater special occasions like weddings, winery events, and community fundraisers like the annual “Best of Orangevale” awards banquet and the first ever Orangevale Harvest Dinner.

O’Connor’s doors are open seven days a week, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. for lunch, dinner and nightly happy hour specials.

For those who haven’t tried the local bar and eatery, check it out. “It takes a lot to keep a small business running,” Steve reflected. “I’d say to those who don’t know about us to learn who is here and support your local businesses.”
