Orangevale Chamber of Commerce Business Spotlight – True Blue Auto Care

If you’re like me, you’ve driven by this business many, many times, and may not have known exactly what is was. Auto parts? Auto detailer? Not sure? Me either, so I decided to stop in to find out and this is what I learned! 

True Blue Auto Care, located at 8964 Greenback Lane, across the street from Walmart, came on the scene nearly 10 years ago in 2010, when owner Saj Zoghet, seized an opportunity to buy the auto repair and maintenance shop.

“It was serendipitous,” Saj recalled. “I was in the high-tech business for 16 years and got laid off. This shop became available around the same time, so I bought it.”

Saj, a Casa Roble High School alumni, was warm and welcoming, we sat down to begin the interview and I quickly noticed two things. First, his love for history with World War 2 memorabilia on the walls, which we both agreed was fought by those from the greatest generation. And second, his love for family which was apparent by all his pictures proudly displayed.

From the start, Saj’s plan was to open the shop, get it running and then return to his life of climbing the corporate ladder. Once he got going, what he discovered was something he wasn’t expecting — that he didn’t want to go back to his old job. That he truly enjoyed his new business interacting with customers and filling a void of customer service that he felt was missing from the auto repair industry. 

“I love being able to do my own thing,” said Saj. “And this opportunity allowed me the freedom to do that.”

With the help of his right hand man and Shop Manager Jeff Valtman, a seasoned auto repair mechanic for over 30 years, Saj found that they could provide a new and improved way of doing business, unlike the “old school” way of auto repair he  described as “rough around the edges,” where customers are not listened to, but are at the mercy of repair shop.

That’s the exact opposite of what Saj hopes customers will find when they come to True Blue.

“We focus on doing work with honesty, integrity and treating the customer with the highest level of respect,” said Saj. “We want everyone to leave having peace of mind and confidence that their car will run as expected.” 

While his background is in the technology industry, his heart has always belonged to Americal muscle cars. He relies on his staff of auto experts to deliver what customers want, “honesty, integrity and value for their dollar.”

Affirming those values, True Blue Auto Care Shop Manager Jeff proudly shared, “I’ve been fortunate to do what I love, and love what I do.” 

Saj believes that True Blue has a loyal following of customers who keep coming back because there’s a high level of trust and no pressure when it comes to their recommendations.

“Second to your brain, your car is your greatest tool,” Saj shared. “Our mission is to educate our customers and let them make an informed decision. When people love how they are treated, they’ll keep coming back.”
