A Tennessee Song Challenge
Competing talent will sing a song with Tennessee in the lyrics or about a place in Tennessee!
Round 2: Top singers to perform October 11th at Lincoln Central Academy. Singers will be judged by voice professionals.
Round 3: Top 10 to perform October 12th at Lincoln Central Academy. The Top 5 will be selected to perform at the Slawburger Festival April 19th, 2025. The 1st place contestant will receive a cash prize of $1,000, and $250 will be given to the crowd favorite.
$10 for aged 12+, $5 for ages 4-11, and free for kids under 3.
Rules
1. All songs must reference Tennessee, in the lyrics or the title or an iconic place in Tennessee. You cannot alter the lyrics to include the Tennessee reference.
2. Songs can be originals.
3. All songs must be self-accompanied or with an instrumental track – no backup vocals.
4. Solos, duets or vocal ensembles are permitted - no bands.
5. Qualifying round is online. After registering, contestants will receive instructions for submitting video.
6. No editing or altering vocals. Must be acoustic.
7. An acoustically live room for recording is recommended.
8. The top 20 singers will be chosen to perform live on stage on October 11th. The top 10 from the 11th will be in the finals on October 12th and will be eligible to win $1,000 first prize. There will also be a $250 audience choice award.
