Fayetteville Main Street Announces Downtown Improvement Grant Program Application
Fayetteville Main Street is excited to announce the launch of the Downtown Improvement Grant (DIG) Program, a strategic initiative designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal and economic vitality of Fayetteville’s downtown district. This program offers financial assistance to property owners and commercial tenants for exterior façade improvements, supporting local businesses and fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.
Program Overview:
The DIG Program aims to revitalize downtown by providing reimbursement grants for property enhancements. Approved applicants can receive up to 75% of project costs, with a required 25% match from the business or property owner. Eligible improvements include storefront renovations, signage upgrades, window replacements, masonry repairs, awning installations, and exterior lighting enhancements.
Key Dates:
- Applications Available: February 28, 2025
- Public Meeting: March 20, 2025, at 5 PM (Fayetteville Main Street)
- Application Deadline: April 11, 2025, by 4 PM
- Award Announcements: No later than May 9, 2025
- Project Completion Deadline: February 15, 2026

Application Process:
Interested applicants must submit a completed application, along with required documentation such as property photos, contractor quotes, and a financing plan. All applications will be reviewed by the Fayetteville Main Street Grant Committee to ensure projects align with city zoning regulations.
Funding Details:
Grant funds will be allocated based on project scoring, need, and available funding. Up to 15 properties may be awarded grants through the program for projects up to $20,000. Additionally, to prevent speculative selling, properties that receive grant funding must retain ownership for at least five years, or repayment will be required on a prorated schedule.
