Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of Orlando Fire Station 11: A Community Celebration

On May 14th, the community gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Orlando Fire Station 11, also known as “The Beast of the East.” This state-of-the-art facility, located on East Curry Ford near Conway, marks a significant enhancement in our local emergency response capabilities.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by city leaders and community members, including several Curry Ford West (CFW) board members. Lindsay Kennedy, who participated in the station’s mural committee, and CFW Executive Director Stephanie Ziglar were among those present to support and celebrate this milestone.

The new fire station features advanced technology aimed at promoting firefighter wellness, including individual bunk rooms designed to ensure better rest and recovery for the crew. This investment underscores the Orlando Fire Department's commitment to maintaining its top-tier status, being rated among the top 1% of fire departments in the United States (WFTV) (WFTV).

The station stands as a testament to the strength and unity of our community, reflecting the dedication of all involved in its development. Built in the footprint of the original Station 11 the Curry Ford West community is proud to have the station open and serving our community once again. This new station will undoubtedly enhance our community’s safety and well-being for years to come.
