The Driver’s Seat - A Fresh Perspective with Laura Schneider

Quotes and Photos Courtesy of Laura Schneider

Let’s just get the fact that Laura Schneider has launched four small businesses in five years out into the world right away. Starting with woodworking and moving on to luxurious event planning, business coaching, and finally a glamorous Mocktail Cart, Laura is uniquely qualified to help aspiring or current entrepreneurs grow their small business.

Back in 2018, Laura was pregnant with her third child when she was busy working on her very first business start- Birch & Willow Est. Laura struggled with the challenges of starting a new business; “when I first started my woodworking business, there was not a lot of resources. What should I do? Who do I talk to? I felt so hopeless, not having a sense of direction.” She eventually found the Walla Walla Small Business Development Center which connected most of the dots on her entrepreneurial journey; she overcame the mysticism surrounding the government, taxes, and made “best friends” with the Health Department.

Despite all the support and guidance, “I felt connected in a sense of direction, however still felt something was missing- that personable, relatable, close friendship like contact.” Like most people who’ve experienced the ups and downs of starting a business, Laura was overwhelmed and exhausted; she grew to tolerate the pressure, and knew that this common experience was something she could share with others. A fire inside her ignited, and Laura decided to embark on Luxurious Children’s Event Planning and Business Mentorship through the lens of normalizing the need for guided direction and helping others during difficult times. Laura wants to be the “Business Bestie Mentor,” she needed when she got started; “I just want to give other entrepreneurs that relatable  and genuine mentorship that I so much desired. The mentorship that melted the nerves away with ease through endless connectedness, belly aching laughs, long coffee dates, mindset training, and accountability.  Whatever people want, wherever they feel most connected, I want them to follow that. Because that right there… that is their magic! Their magic is their ultimate key to running a successful and profitable business.”

Laura loves to connect inventive ideas with outcomes; having spent 17 years in the hospitality industry (nursing, food/beverage, and event planning), Laura has accumulated the skillset to be able to offer a unique clientele experience for business owners, regardless of what they do for work. The long list of knowledge includes: unique hospitality, permitting, zoning, expansion, diversifying income, and strategic funding. “I tune in to what business owners crave to build with their clients, bring their vision to life, and help them mold the exact experience they want to provide to their clientele.”

Mindset Coaching is another aspect of her Business Mentorship offerings. Mindset Coaching is all about reframing negative experiences through a positive outlook during adversity. “I struggled with my mindset and along the way, all I needed to do was to get out of my own way. I’ve learned to fail forward- failure is not a loss! It’s a learning lesson! I would rather fail and learn something than stay in the same spot and not have experienced at all. I’m not going to let fear dictate my future.” With her big smile, tender heart, and army of expertise behind her, Laura is sure to help others light their own way.
