Saturday Market Newsletter October 5

So Much Is Happening In October at the Market

"Make us your downtown destination for fresh, local, and wonderful."

We love the October weeks for the Saturday Market because the colors of fall are at every vendor tent. Pumpkins and mums might steal the seasonal spotlight, but cool-weather candle scents, pumpkin breads, chai tea fall flavors, and seasonal cookies and baked goods are available throughout the market. This is comfort food weather (soon) and our vendors have you covered. Check out all the seasonal produce available from our farm vendors. Eat healthy. Buy local.

This week we have two local artists, Trinity Joy Paints and Erin Lynn Fine Art at the market. We encourage customers to support our local artists. This is the time for gift buying and what better than to buy local.

Two special guests this week are the Friends of the Library, coming back again with their book, DVD, and CD give aways to market customers. Stop by and browse their table for free materials. And there will be a table for Voter's Registration and information. The last day to register to vote is Oct. 7.

Thank you all for your continued support of our 2024 Saturday Market and the vendors we feature.

See you on the square Saturday morning from 8-noon for the market.

Here's the Market Lineup for October 5

Sophie Buck-Market Musician

Sophie Buck will help us welcome October at the Saturday Market this week. Her fiddle-playing always provides a great background for our market, and we want to thank her for being a part of our market family for five years.

Welcome New Vendor-Nash Philly

Some of you may know Nash Philly from the Winter Market at The Hamery. Well, this October, they will be a part of the Saturday Market. Their website explains Nash Philly is "when Philadelphia Fresh meets Nashville Hot." They specialize in expert sandwiches and classic Italian/American fare. They will be bringing prepared foods to the market. We hope you will all give them a warm welcome this week. Their offerings will vary each week.

Welcome Back RJ Hadle

This week, we welcome back RJ Hadle, local fiber arts vendor. RJ has weavings, hand-woven bags, and unique felted pumpkins.

RJ is a talented spinner, weaver, and artisan.

Welcome Back Midnight Grove Candles

This Saturday, Midnight Grove Candle Co. will be back at the market with candles and other gift items. Ask about the workshops they are offering at their new store location. Learn how to make floral brooms, candles, and smoke bundles. The schedule is on their website.

New Mystery Bean from TnBean Girl

This Saturday, Bean Girl will be celebrating their 14th Bean Harvest with customers at the Saturday Market.  From first planting a very large garden, hand drying the bean pods and using a single pod sheller to what is now 20 acres of planted fields (beans and oats). Harvesting now means modern (1950's count, right?) equipment.  While they are well known across the country for their Gluten Free Products, they are best known for their Fresh Dry Beans.

And this year, the MYSTERY BEAN is Mung Beans! Originating in India and East Asia, these super-healthy beans require minimal soaking, are highly nutritious and are traditionally served with Jasmine or Basmati Rice.  On the back of each package, they provide cooking instructions as well as a wonderful recipe for Curry with a spicier option. Check out their fresh harvest this week.
