How about this bird's-eye view of the Saturday Market. We are indeed a downtown farmer's market, surrounding the historic Rutherford County Courthouse and drawing visitors from across Middle Tennessee (and beyond) to the market and the shops and restaurants located in the heart of Murfreesboro. The market is open every Saturday from 8-Noon through October 26. 

This Saturday, we welcome our sponsors for the week, Redstone FCU and The Learning Zone. Music will be provided by Noelle Larae, a young fiddle player, playing at the market for the first time. We also have a new vendor, Mac's Kettle Corn and our community guest is Center for the Arts. 

July is peak season for fresh fruits and vegetables, and it's Beef Month. We've got you covered for all your shopping needs from fresh food to handmade cedar furniture. Check us out. Thanks to Lee Hoagland from Storm Guard Roofing & Construction for the aerial photo. 

Chris Irons, Southland Farms, shared these images of his emerging crop of Zephyr squash just to give you an idea of how tiny they start out. The full size plant is from an earlier planting. Irrigation is saving these seedlings, and with luck, they will be coming to the market later this season. Remember, farming is not for the faint of heart!

Our community highlight at the market this week is the Center for the Arts. Stop by their table (spot #27) for information about their programs and upcoming performances. 

This summer, journey across the seas and voyage into the jungle with the Center for the Arts and the Disney classic, "TARZAN," running only one weekend (JULY 19-21) in TUCKER THEATRE at MTSU. You won't want to miss this fantastic performance. Tickets will be on sale at the market this Saturday, on their website www.boroarts.org, or by calling 615-904-2787.
