Doug started working for them in 1969 as a college student. After college graduation and a tour in the army, He came back to Murfreesboro and started back to work at City Tile. Doug purchased a portion of the business in 1976 after his father’s death and bought the remainder in 1978. City Tile has been located at 223 S. Spring St, for all its 68 years in business. There have been 2 expansions to the building, along with the purchase of the old Roscoe Brown Building next door to expand even more. Andrew H Young started working at City Tile in his early teens and learned all about the different facets of the business from his father, Doug Young. In 2011, Doug sold part of the business to his son, Andrew Young to carry on the family tradition. Upon Doug’s death in 2016, Andrew took over the business and has grown it to what it is today!
