Augusta Skatepark is NOW OPEN!

On Sunday, November 5th - the long-awaited Augusta Skatepark held its grand opening Ribbon Cutting from 2pm - 5 pm.  Tons of skaters and bikers showed up to try out the newest attraction.  It was quite an entertaining event!  While I am not coordinated enough to ride a skateboard - there were all levels of skaters from beginners to advanced sharing the newly opened ramps.  I was thrilled to see the sheer number of people who showed up for this event - either to participate or just watch.  I was quite impressed with the 6-year-old that was doing some pretty amazing tricks!  People of all ages came out to enjoy a beautiful day and celebrate the opening of something that was years in the making.  If you haven' been by yet - check out the skatepark near Moyle Field and Lincoln Elementary.  The park is located at the corner of State Street and Sunflower Ave.
