So much happening in Augusta!
What a busy weekend! The WFO Guys Car Show is never disappointing! Luckily it ended up being a beautiful day for the car show! The Augusta Lions Club hosted a pancake feed at the depot to get everyone's day started right. I love walking downtown, seeing people that I have not seen in a long time, and making new connections while my husband drools over all of the beautiful vehicles. My favorite part was getting a sneak peek preview of the Bowling Alley! I can't wait for them to be open again! It is coming soon! The Kansas Cannons played their second pool play game on Saturday evening in the NBC World Series. After a win in the first game of pool play, they came up short in their second game. Bracket play for the Cannons begins today at 3:00 pm at Wichita State Eck Stadium. Buy one get one free tickets are available when you bring a non-perishable food item to the game. We have a lot of things happening this week as well! Tonight is Trivia Night at Sugar Shane's. Show off your smarts and enjoy a great dinner! Just call Brandon and let him know you are coming! On Tuesday we have our Learning about Locable event all day at the depot. If you are a business member and have not signed up yet - make sure you pick a time to come! In 30 minutes you will learn how to utilize this great community tool! Make your marketing count! This is a FREE event - to learn more or register - go to www.goaugusta.org and click on events - then Learning about Locable. A new favorite, News@Noon is happening this Wednesday at Noon at Sugar Shanes. Open to everyone - it is a great way to stay connected with what is happening in your community! The Castle Park Rebuild meeting is happening this week as well and we need ALL of the community to help get this going once again! After MANY years - the Augusta Skatepark will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday at its new location by Moyle Field - located just to the west of Lincoln Elementary. The Augusta Department of Safety will also be hosting their movie in the park on Sunday the 12th. Make sure you follow their Facebook page to keep up to date on that event! We also have live music and food specials happening this week as well - so make sure you support your local businesses this week!
