This session is geared toward board members, executive leaders, program managers, line

managers, and anyone interested in nonprofit budgeting.

Why should I attend?

During this 90-minute session, you will learn about the different types of budgets and their importance. We will explore the steps involved in the budgeting process and questions to consider when developing the budget. We will also review the main financial statements, and the importance of developing a schedule for creating, revising, and monitoring budgets.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Be familiar with different types of budgets,
  • Understand the steps to developing a nonprofit budget,
  • Be empowered to ask key questions about building and monitoring budgets.

About the Trainer:

Susan Davis is the Financial Services Program Manager at 501 Commons, a nonprofit that serves other nonprofits as experts, innovators, and partners. Our passion is to amplify the strengths of nonprofits—so ALL people and communities flourish.

Susan supervises a team of associates who provide bookkeeping, accounting, and 990 form preparation to our nonprofit partners. She’s experienced in both the for-profit and nonprofit arenas, having owned/operated two successful Seattle-based manufacturing businesses, and managed the Seattle Opera’s costumes department, before bringing her management and finance skills to 501 Commons.
