Great News: Central City Museum Launches a new, immersive audio exhibit and expands visiting hours
RenewAll Inc. currently manages, curates, and helps grow the Central City Museum, and this year the Central City Museum launched its new audio exhibit, called “Stories of Central City: An Oral History Project.” In addition to this exciting news, the Central City Museum has expanded its hours and is now open 7 days a week, allowing participants to learn about local history any day of the week.
About “Stories of Central City: An Oral History Project”:
The Central City Museum launched “The Stories of Central City,” a new interactive audio exhibit this year! Experience the rich heritage and vibrant past of Central City at The Central Museum located at 610 14th Street West, within Village Antiques here in Huntington. Immerse yourself in the captivating stories that have shaped our community. The new interactive audio exhibit allows participants to listen to six firsthand accounts and learn more about families and businesses that built this unique part of Huntington at the simple push of a button.
About Central City Museum:
The Central City Museum is a museum on a mission to weave the threads of personal stories and artifacts from industries into a professionally presented narrative history of the community. The vision of the Central City Museum is to contribute to the revitalization of the West Huntington neighborhood with a destination for residents and visitors that builds the significance of the area.The Central City Museum was established in 2020 as a way to preserve and tell the rich history of Central City. The Central City Museum features a primary exhibit of glass, wood products, brewery memorabilia, and other items from the shops and businesses found in Central City from 1893-1950s. The primary exhibit is part of the programming at RenewAll’s Cultural Wealth Hub, Village Antiques, located at 610 14th St. W in Huntington. Today, RenewAll’s team leads the mission behind the Central City Museum.
