Pop-Up West Welcomes Ceram Sam: Pushing the Boundaries of Functional Art

RenewAll’s Pop-Up West, a pop-up space for small businesses in Central City, welcomes new business owner, Ceram Sam. From November 1, 2024, to March 1, 2025, Samantha Taylor brings her distinct blend of vivid oil paintings and earthy ceramics to this dynamic space. Her work serves as a celebration of both the natural world and the complexities of human existence, bridging the gap between personal and communal stories.

Step inside, and you’ll quickly sense the warmth and creativity Sam brings to the space. This isn’t just a gallery; it’s a welcoming spot to connect with art and community. “I want people to feel like they can come to hang out, talk about art, and just be here without feeling any pressure to buy something,” Sam shares. With her hands-on, open approach, visitors can expect to see her at work—prepping new pottery or painting live. Her goal is to give everyone who steps in a glimpse of the passion and process behind her pieces.

Make-and-Take Events

Ceram Sam will also offer a range of Make-and-Take events, perfect for anyone looking to get creative:

- Paint a Mug – November 15th

- Make an Ornament – December 13th

- Valentine’s Day Matching Planters – February 7th

All events are only $5 per person to attend and offer a fantastic chance to create personal keepsakes or gifts. Registration is simple—just sign up through the email or online forms posted on Ceram Sam’s Pop-Up Business Page.

By joining the Pop-Up West Program, Sam has found an invaluable opportunity to experiment with having her own retail space—without the long-term commitment. "This pop-up allows me to connect with new audiences and share the fine art and craft world with more people,” she explains. Each visitor will have a chance to explore her pieces up close, ask questions, and gain insight into the energy and thought behind her work. She always encourages people to touch her items and really understand each piece before committing to purchasing.

RenewAll, ECDI, and HADCO have teamed up to offer this exciting opportunity to emerging businesses through the Ignite Huntington Entrepreneur Program. Participants complete the Ignite Appalachia in Huntington workshop and pitch competition, then they can schedule a time in the Pop-up West Space. While the location is temporary, Pop-up West allows new businesses to test their products and services and gain new customers and followers to support their business development.
