Inside of Gallery 610: Jesse Thornton's "Vibrant Visions of Huntington"

RenewAll's Gallery 610 is honored to host local Huntington photographer Jesse Thornton from July 3rd to August 18th, 2024.  “Vibrant Visions of Huntington” captured through the lens of Jesse, highlights the best of the city.  This solo exhibition features iconic images throughout Huntington WV.

Whether you’re from Huntington, attend school here, live or visit, you’ll recognize special places and buildings. Marshall University, Ritter Park, Greyhound Bus Station, Camden Park and the Frederick Building are just some of the photographs in the exhibit.

Originally from Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Jesse now calls Huntington home.

He is a self-taught photographer and focuses his work on highlighting his home state, particularly its dark skies and nighttime-themed scenes. Inspired by the dramatic and surreal, his photos are the result of advanced planning and persistence.

When he isn’t behind the camera, he loves sharing his knowledge and favorite spots to shoot in regular workshops for photographers of all skill levels.

When asked about the “Vibrant Visions of Huntington” exhibit, Jesse states, “Huntington has the vibe of a small town with elements of a larger city. The old industrial river city with its nostalgic art deco motifs interspersed throughout an ever-changing college community has always been interesting to me and appears especially vibrant when viewed at night.  That’s what I hope to capture in my images.”

Stop by Gallery 610, located at 610 14th St. W., Huntington.  Enter through Village Antiques & Art. Open 7 days a week!  Meet Jesse Thursday evening, July 18th between 4 PM – 7 PM during his Artist Talk.
