Recap: JD Rappold's "Power of Pokémon" Event at Village Antiques & Art

Recently, JD Rappold, a lifelong Pokémon enthusiast, shared his passion for Pokémon cards at Village Antiques & Art, powered by RenewAll Inc. JD, who has been collecting since age 10, gave an insightful talk titled "The Power of Pokémon", where he explored the history of Pokémon cards, their evolving value, and tips for spotting fakes. RenewAll was excited to host such a unique talk with JD in our creative hub here in Central City!
As a Huntington native and Marshall University graduate, JD emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses like Abby Roads Thrifts, his sister's shop located on the second floor of the venue. JD’s presentation covered the different types of cards, how to evaluate their worth, and advice on properly storing them. He also shared stories from his personal collection, including his love for Psychic types like Gengar and the iconic Pikachu.
JD encouraged those who stopped by to embrace hobbies, noting how collecting brings joy and connection, helping people escape the routine of everyday life. Missed out on meeting JD? Don't worry!
