First Student Member Class - "Meals in Minutes: Mastering the Microwave" with Chef Keshia from Elysium Acres of Altus

On June 10th, we hosted our very first student member class, "Meals in Minutes: Mastering the Microwave," led by the talented Chef Keshia from Elysium Acres Altus. This exclusive class, tailored for our Altus Chamber student members, was a huge success and marked a fantastic start to our series of educational and fun events for students.

The class was designed specifically for high school students and those transitioning to college life, focusing on the art of cooking delicious and nutritious meals using a microwave. Chef Keshia demonstrated a variety of recipes, ranging from quick breakfast options to hearty dinners and even some delectable desserts.

The students were engaged and enthusiastic, eager to learn new skills that will serve them well in their busy lives. Chef Keshia's approachable teaching style made the session interactive and enjoyable, ensuring that every participant left with a newfound confidence in their microwave cooking abilities.

Here's a glimpse of what we covered in the class:

• Breakfast: Quick and healthy way to cook eggs in the microwave
• Lunchtime Delights: Cooking bacon in the microwave for an easy BLT sandwich. 
• Dinner in a Flash:  Using the microwave to cook ground beef in which you could use for different options like easy tacos, or spaghetti. 
• Sweet Treats: Indulgent coffee mug cake dessert that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

We are thrilled to have provided this valuable experience to our student members, helping them develop essential life skills and encouraging them to take charge of their nutrition. The positive feedback we received from the participants has been overwhelming, and we are already looking forward to our next class.
