Celebrate Earth Day in Downtown Columbus!

Join us on Tuesday, April 22 from 4 to 7 PM for a community-wide Earth Day celebration, hosted by the Trackside District Downtown Business Association (BID). Central Community College and the Platte County 4-H Teen Ambassadors are working in collaboration with the Trackside BID to plant thousands of flowers and celebrate sustainability in fun and creative ways.

How You Can Participate:

  • Flower Planting – Older kids and adults can help plant flowers provided by the Downtown Business Association and the Platte County Extension's Pollinator Program.

  • Upcycled Art Booth – Visit the Trax Creative District and Columbus Area Children’s Museum booth to create art using upcycled materials. Open to all ages!

  • Seed & Plant Swap – Bring extra plants and seeds to share and take home something new for your garden. Hosted by Columbus Parks and Recreation, this is a great opportunity for gardeners of all ages.

  • Youth Art Exhibit – Get a first glance of our Earth Day-inspired art work from middle school youth all over Columbus! This exhibit will remain open for one week after the event.

  • Library Seed Program – Wrap up the night by learning about the Columbus Public Library’s Seed Program, located inside the Columbus Community Building.

Let’s come together to make our community greener. We look forward to celebrating with you!
