New Groups Provide Beats & Eats Entertainment Last Week

Young Talent Shines at Beats and Eats Summer Concert Series

Young talent always amazes me. The incredible performance by the four young men of Gas n Grass at the Beats and Eats summer concert series on Saturday night at Frankfort Square was a true testament to the power of youth and passion. These talented musicians had the crowd captivated from start to finish with their contagious enthusiasm for music.

2023 Iowa Rock Talent Winners

Gas n Grass, the 2023 winners of the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association's Iowa Rocks Talent Finals held in Arnolds Park, consists of Davin Holste on bass guitar, Drew Morelock on drums, Brayton McFarland on guitar, and Jack Murren as the lead vocalist. All high school students, they have been performing together for nearly four years, showcasing a level of skill and cohesion beyond their years. Their presence on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram has also helped them build a growing fanbase.

Other New Artists Took the Stage on Thursday

But the excitement didn't end with Gas n Grass. Thursday night's Beats and Eats featured another phenomenal group of musicians from out of state. Lonnie Hardy, a seasoned performer with over four decades of experience in Christian Country music, delivered an unforgettable performance. Known for his chart-topping hits like "She's A Daddy's Girl" and "Our Town," Lonnie was joined on stage by Austin Tyler and Kelle Nicole of New Mantle Music. Austin and Kelle brought their unique blend of pop, rock, and inspirational music to the stage, performing both top 40 hits and original songs, including their latest release, "Seeds."
