Fresh new look to Frankfort Square brochure holder

A New Artistic Addition to Frankfort Square

This past weekend, Frankfort Square welcomed a vibrant new addition, thanks to the talented area artist Nelson Labrada álvarez. Commissioned by Columbus' TRAX Creative District in collaboration with the Columbus Arts Council, Nelson has transformed the brochure holder in the southwest corner of Frankfort Square into a stunning piece of art.
Nelson Labrada álvarez was selected for this project after a thorough design process that concluded last month. His love for nature shines through in this piece, which beautifully incorporates elements found in the downtown area, such as brickwork, landscapes, and wood details. This newly painted brochure holder will house the Sculpture/Mural Walk brochures, serving both a practical purpose and as a testament to the artistic spirit thriving in our community.
The collaboration between TRAX Creative District and the Columbus Arts Council highlights their commitment to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our public spaces while supporting local artists. Nelson's artwork not only enriches Frankfort Square but also offers a glimpse into the broader artistic talent present in Columbus.
For those eager to see more of Nelson's work, you’re in luck! His exhibition will open at the Columbus Art Gallery on Thursday, July 30, at 5 p.m. Located on the second floor of the Columbus Community Building at 2500 14 St, the gallery will showcase Nelson's exceptional ability to merge natural elements with artistic expression.

Make sure to visit Frankfort Square to admire the newly painted brochure holder and then head over to the Columbus Art Gallery from July 30 until late August  to explore more of Nelson Labrada álvarez's captivating work. His pieces not only enhance our public spaces but also reflect the vibrant and dynamic nature of our local art scene.
