Walmart Celebrates 52 Years in Brownsville with Grand Reopening & Ribbon Cutting
What an exciting morning on Friday, April 11, 2025, we had in Brownsville as we joined the team at Walmart Supercenter to celebrate 52 years of service to our community with a Grand Reopening Ribbon Cutting following an impressive remodel!
The celebration was filled with energy and community pride, kicked off by amazing performances from the Haywood High School Band and the Haywood High Basketball Cheerleaders, who brought spirit and excitement to the event. Walmart also generously gave donations to both groups, along with contributions to other local organizations—demonstrating their ongoing commitment to supporting youth and community programs in Brownsville.
As part of the celebration, guests in attendance had the chance to win door prizes, adding even more excitement and appreciation for the community that has supported Walmart for over five decades.
We’d like to extend a big thank you to our Chamber Board of Directors, Mr. Leonard Jones and Sheronda Green, for their leadership and support, and to City of Brownsville Mayor Bill Rawls, Jr. for being part of this memorable occasion.
A heartfelt shoutout goes to our Chamber Ambassadors, who showed up in full force wearing red and representing the Chamber with pride.
And of course, thank you to the Brownsville business community, our local leaders, and residents who came out to celebrate this milestone. Your presence made the event even more special and truly reflects the spirit of community we cherish.
Congratulations to Walmart Brownsville on 52 incredible years—and here’s to many more ahead!
