A Poem by Shirley Proctor
Autumn Leaves
The Autumn leaves come tumbling down
In many colors hitting the ground
They come from many different trees
And float down gently in the breeze
But then sometimes the wind blows hard and sends them swirling round the yard
Sometimes they land on porches or rain spouts
Then they have to be swept, or maybe cleaned out.
Before they fall their colors change and what beautiful pictures they make
But that doesn’t last very long
And then, its time to rake
They are raked in a pile
For the kids to jump in
And then they have to be raked once again
Into big bags they go
Now the ground is clear
Waiting for snow!
Why do leaves change color and fall?
What is the reason
Because it is one of Gods 4 seasons
Spring, summer, winter & fall
God has a special reason for them all.
Sow in Spring
Grow in Summer
Reap in Fall
Sleep in winter
