Description

Milling on the Comstock Lode began in 1859 and lasted about 164 years; over 200 mills were commissioned throughout these years.  The vast majority of the mills were stamp mills with amalgamation circuits.  Included in the list of stamp/amalgamation mills was the Donovan Mill in Silver City NV (then known as the Kelsey Mill) which began operation in 1860.

Cyanidation began on the Comstock in 1895 at the Donovan Mill.  The mill ran for 99 years.  The name of the mill changed several times; the flowsheet for this mill also changed a number of times.  The Comstock Foundation is restoring the Donovan Mill.

Your generous donation to attend this event will directly impact the restoration of the historic Donovan Mill.  We encourage you to make your donation at the event or by completing the form below.  Your support is vital to our efforts!
