Founded in 1934, Clear Lake Bank & Trust is a locally owned bank with locations in Clear Lake, Garner, and Downtown Mason City. They offer consumer loans, home loans, business loans, deposit products (checking and savings accounts), HSA accounts, IRA's, Trust services.

The bank celebrated its 90^th anniversary in 2024, highlighting its deep connection to the Mason City community and the strong sense of collaboration it shares with its residents.

“Mason City is a vibrant community where neighbors truly care for one another, local businesses thrive on mutual support, and there's a strong commitment to building a better future together,” Ruge said.

Being a community bank is important to CLB&T, and their dedication to building relationships serves as the cornerstone of everything they do. “We understand trust earned through consistent and reliable service,” Ruge said. “We provide our customers with the education and resources they need to achieve their financial goals. That is the difference between a community bank and a big bank. Your dollars make an impact locally.”

Their employees’ active engagement in the community and the company’s philanthropic efforts is a testament to that mission: Employees volunteer for more than 135 non-profit organizations and service clubs and CLB&T also gives back more than $250,000 to community organizations through sponsorships and donations.

CLB&T remains committed to investing in Mason City and driving its growth and development. Expanding market share and partnering with small businesses and customers to help them achieve their financial goals are top priorities.

This commitment to community development extends beyond financial services and into celebrating Mason City’s vibrant culture. One of their favorite Main Street Mason City events—Friday Night Live—is something they look forward to every year when Downtown Mason City is jam-packed with people.  They are excited to see what lies ahead for Downtown Mason City and look forward to playing a role in it.
