Rooks County is located in Northwest Kansas halfway between Denver and Kansas City at the eastern edge of the Great Plains. The county’s approximate 5,000 people enjoy a quality of life that is attractive to people seeking a simpler way of life.  The mission of Rooks County Economic Development is to further economic development by promoting the assets and resources of the county and its communities. The focus of RCED is on entrepreneurship, retention and expansion of existing business, tourism and agritourism, and leadership development.
