Job Description:
The Events Committee Chair will lead the planning and execution of events that support the mission of the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture. This volunteer role involves overseeing all aspects of event planning, from concept to execution, while ensuring events align with the foundation’s goals. As chair, you will lead a team of volunteers, coordinate logistics, and help create impactful experiences that celebrate and preserve the rich history of the Comstock region.
Responsibilities:
- Chair the Events Committee and oversee the planning, organization, and execution of events.
- Lead and coordinate committee meetings, assigning tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Develop event concepts and ensure alignment with the foundation’s mission and goals.
- Coordinate with vendors, venues, and volunteers to manage logistics and operations.
- Promote events through social media, newsletters, and community outreach.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and necessary permits.
- Provide post-event evaluations and recommend improvements for future events.
Ideal Candidate:
- A natural leader with a passion for history, cultural preservation, and community engagement.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team and collaborate effectively.
- Previous experience in event planning, project management, or leadership is preferred.
- Creative thinker with problem-solving skills and adaptability under pressure.
